The gym was great today, mostly I ran and watched the West Wing (damn you Bravo and your marathons! I can't be on the treadmill forever!). I got into a groove and it felt great. Bicep curls make me feel like a weakling, but at least in my head I can already see the difference. Came home from the gym to a very exciting voicemail. Currently entrenched in phone tag, but it seems with a positive outcome.

I smell real bad, but I feel real good.

Also, why didn't I know about the Be Good Tanyas?

Logic: I like music. I like making other people listen to my music. I like talking about music. I like talking. I should have a radio show. Former Future Roommate and I enjoy similar music. We enjoy talking. We think we're hilarious. We should have a radio show together.

I'm currently making a mix for Connie. I really should be going to bed, and I will be soon. I gave her a mix a while ago, and she hasn't listened to it yet, and I just looked at the track listing on my iTunes. And it's horrible! There were a few days where my mixing abiilties totally went in the toilet. If I were in a wacky coming of age comedy, I'd break into her room and replace it with one better. In reality, I realize that if she can be friends with me after I demonstrated tonight that I'm clearly TOO DUMB TO LIVE, she can probably deal with my occasional loss of any ability to compose a mix. So this one needs to be really good so that I can redeem myself a bit, if only in my own eyes.

Life through mixes. Here's the breakup mix, interestingly composed before I knew about the new girl:

Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone -- Bill Withers
Jesus, Etc. -- Wilco
You Made Me Forget My Dreams -- Belle & Sebastian
Wild Horses -- The Rolling Stones
I Can't Make You Love Me -- Bonnie Raitt
Fight Test -- The Flaming Lips
Mr.Brightside -- The Killers
Pictures of You -- The Cure
The Jeep Song -- The Dresden Dolls
Hurt -- Johnny Cash
Hallelujah -- Rufus Wainwright
Total Eclipse of the Heart -- Bonnie Tyler
What It Takes -- Aerosmith
Red Right Ankle -- The Decemberists

This is a cheat. The only ones that are really appropriate are the Wilco, B&S and Bonnie Raitt. Oh and The Killers, hardcore. The second half are just songs I really like to sing. The more I look at this, the less appropriate it seems to this break up.

How about this one, I call it "You're So Vain, You Probably Think This Mix Is About You." I'm so clever.

Jesus Etc. -- Wilco
You Made Me Forget My Dreams -- Belle & Sebastian
I Can't Make You Love Me -- Bonnie Raitt
Please Me Like You Want To -- Ben Harper
Chain of Fools -- Aretha Franklin
Try (Just a Little Bit Harder) -- Janis Joplin
Walking On Broken Glass -- Annie Lennox
Mr. Brightside -- The Killers
I'm Not Okay (I Promise) -- My Chemical Romance
Happy Birthday to Me -- Bright Eyes
Girlfriends Don't Keep -- Bratmobile
You're So Vain -- Carly Simon
It's Too Late -- Carole King
Faith -- George Michael

iTunes: Cheaper than therapy.

So this would be an actual poll, but my paid account ran out and I can no longer pretend I have the kind of cash to be having a paid live journal. So:

How many days after a concert do you wait to wear the t-shirt?
a) Wait? What? I put it on at the show!
b) The next day! the very next day! The minute I leave, even!
c) After I've washed it, sometime that week
d) A week, so it's still relevant, but I don't look like a geek.
e) A month, just to be sure
f) never. I'm framing that shit.

I think I'll be unfashonably sincere and wear my pixies shirt tomorrow. I have no self-restraint and I just did laundry, dammit. Bonus points because it's cute.

Yeah.
