Medical question

[suspectclass]

Anyone out there have endometriosis, or know someone who does? Could you tell me anything about the symptoms leading to diagnosis, treatment, whatever?

I was complaining about some problems I've been having to my shrink, and s/he was concerned that I should get checked out. The symptoms seem fairly vague and universal, and the method of diagnosis sounds invasive. Plus I just don't trust doctors, especially with my annoying but oh-so-needed girl parts. I would really appreciate anything y'all might have to share.

i don't know exactly how they 'diagnose' endometriosis. is it by laparoscopy? if that's the case, i've had that done (for an ovarian cyst). i can tell you about that procedure, but i don't know if that is what they use.

Apparently that is what they use, but I guess ultrasound is used too? I would appreciate hearing about that if you want to tell me, but I'm mainly concerned about symptoms.

endometriosis

the docs and i think i have it...i think it's how my T is being paid for by insurance....one out of every 10 bio females have it the propoganda they gave me said (a brochure with lots of pink flowers all over it). My cramps got worse and worse every month. I have always had HORRIBLE pain from them- they tried to put me on estrogen and i was like, "UH...NO...T will do just fine." and that's where i am at now- taking T and am very happy. I am also taking Lupron injections which have stopped my periods and that has been going very well also.
