In her hips, there's revolution

::sigh:: Oh bikini kill.

I made borscht last night. She told me it was fantastic (coming from someone who doesn't like cabbage or beets!) but I have yet to taste the end product. I'm very excited about this, as I haven't cooked anything since August. I think I'm going to be doing some cooking over christmas break if I can. I really miss it. The whole first floor of Baba's house smelled like my soup, which was fun.

Before the borscht Holly and I went over to Bear and Honeylove's place. After a directional debacle involving many retirement communities and a very strange man who seemed scared of us, we made it there and had delicious amazing barbeque. It was fantastic. Amazing. I ate so much I made myself sick. I'll need to train for next month. Beer-based beef stew, I've been told. Mmmmm. Food. MMmmmmm. I haven't really enjoyed most of the food I've found out here, with a few glaring exceptions. Soup seems to be a safe bet, which is good because I love soup. India House and the cafe at Thornes have been great, but generally I find myself disappointed. Anyone have recommendations of really good food out here? Lonely midwest girl seeks hearty filling tastey meal.

Ed Note: Cold, my borscht sucked. Majorly. Ewwww. I will have to find a better recipe next time, as well as altering method and proportions. Not to mention I should have used red cabbage. D'oh.

what is this, bikini kill day? i know that both myself and my best friend wendy listened to and quoted "carnival" at some point this morning.

beer-based beef stew sounds both alliterative and delicious. i mean, i like beef. . .and stew. . .and beer isn't all bad. sounds like my kind of meal.

good eats...
