Sarah: Public housing brings together large numbers of the impoverished, generally undereducated, largely racial minorites, and collects them into small areas, generally seperated from any more upscale homes. The proximity of public housing will cause property values to drop (there goes the neighborhood), driving out any near by affluence. As the people with prospects leave, so do jobs and opportunity, effectivly sealing a large grouip of poor under and un employed people off into their own sub-society where gangs are family and drug dealing is a profession.
