People, I need some thoughts. If you have had your wisdom teeth out (or comparable oral surgery that severly limits what you can eat and hurts like hell for days afterwards), what did you enjoy eating? I recall mostly eating jello and custard until I couldn't take it anymore. Possibly also broth. Any other ideas? I'm looking for things that don't need to be chewed, don't have to be hot, keep well and are filling, and don't contain small particles (like rice. bad news). Also, no straws -- sucking pulls out stitches.

Time is somewhat important in this request.

I placed an order an hour ago with the thai place that leaves menus in our building. I just called, and they don't have my order in their system. Everyone makes mistakes, and it seems that tonight it was the turn of the woman who took my order. In the grand scheme, not a huge deal, but I'm hungry and I have a maybe date, um, now.

I was really looking forward to some curry, too.

Curry may be the world's most perfect food.

Here are all the foods I need in the world to be happy:

Rice
Tofu
Curry (yeah, I'd want several kinds, but I don't think that's asking too much)
Coffee/Espresso
Soy milk
Sushi (though I'd give up the shell fish)
Bread (I'd even go down to just challah, whole grain and dark pumpernickle. And of course bagels of various sorts)
Salmon (see sushi. And bagels)
Mixed green salads
Granola with dried fruits and nuts
Tuna
Potato Salad
medium rare steak.

And the steak I wouldn't even need to have regularly. I didn't include desserts, because I don't like to have them regularly (though I have been lately. Bad masscooper!). But I'd like to make a rule where I will only ever again have desserts that I can resonably expect will send me into a psuedo-orgasmic state of rapture (as those things listed above have the ability to do). This is difficult to enforce, obviously. But much easier now that I am not eating of the dairy! Though that reminds me. I will add one dessert to this list: soy cheesecake. SHUT UP! It's really really good. Mmm.

My favorite sandwich shop, Potbelly, is now more wildly available than ever! I did a search to find the exact location of the store near my office (I was thrilled to find that there is one on Taylor street, since I only knew of ones fairly far from here) and discovered that there are now locations in Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Oh, and Ohio. This place has amazing hot subs, so if you're near one, I highly recommend checking it out. I'm looking at you, [livejournal.com profile] una_sorella and [livejournal.com profile] rustybluebike!

Tofutti individual cheese slices: not awful.

Chicken with tofutti cheese and sauteed onions and mushrooms with broccoli: really quite excellent.
