God it's been a lovely day

I got my birds!

By which I mean, I got one of the two tattoos I've been thinking about for ages. Happy graduation to me, there are three doves flying up my back. Pictures of some kind will be available somewhere when they've healed up a bit. It took an hour, the first twenty minutes of which were pretty exruciating, but for the one on my shoulder, I watched the artist do the shading and thought about the fact that down where I couldn't see there was a needle gouging my flesh. I'm still feeling the endorphins. At the moment they're in shades of gray, I may go back for a touch of color in the fall, once I've lived with them a while and decided how they should look. He also touched up the moon on my right shoulder. It looks better, but fixing it up convinced me that it shouldn't be a standalone piece, but incorporated into something larger. It's just such an odd size and placement. I'm hoping to figure out what to do with it and go in and get it done at the same time as I add to the others.

I also wrote several cover letters this morning. Tomorrow we find internet and I apply for jobs. Take that, bitches.
