We just got back from the new house. Mom and I painted the laundry room -- almost finished! I'm trying to pick out colors for my room and my bathroom, and we're getting a bed soon. I really want a new dresser, but I don't think that's on the horizon. This whole moving thing is really bringing out the avid consumer in me, more so than usual. I'm thrilled that we have a space which we can do with what we want, and where we have the space to move around furniture to accomodate painting, and wash out brushes and store things, etc. I have my very own closet that I don't have to share with my mother, and my own bathroom where I can sit for more than 5 minutes without being disturbed. Our living room is HUGE and sea-foamy green, and our kitchen is large, well-lit and citrusy yellow. My room will likely be some combination of blue and white, I'm thinking one wall a dark or bold color, and the others a complimentary white. So now I'm exhausted and sore, but very happy. I feel useful doing physical things, like maybe I'm not always a lay-about academic.

In other news, my grades this semester are stellar. I haven't wanted to post about them earlier because I know some people may not want to hear it, but I just want to say how glad I am that my hard work, lack of sleep and lack of a life paid off. I feel like I'm actually doing the things I need to do. On top of that, despite the fact that it's been a stressful week or so, Holly and I are doing very well and I'm thrilled about that, too. This too is the fruit of lots of hard work.

In summation: House good. School good. Holly good. All in all? I'd say things are pretty good.

Yay! It really IS all good!

Complimentary? Are you crazy? That, m'dear, would mean orange. Ask your artsy girlfriend, she'll back me up on this one.

::rolls eyes:: I meant, like, a white that is tinted so as to go well with the blue, not complimentary in the color-wheel (or octagon or whatever) sense.

DUH!

You can't argue with good, artistic color matches. If you tint the white with orange, you'll have a festive mix sure to entertain all your guests. And if you can't manage to round any guests up, there are always the purported crazy girls living in your basement.
