I just added it up and discovered that I spend $14.10 per week on the CTA-at a minimum. I don't qualify for the student U-Pass, because I'm only taking 6 credits instead of 12, but I think that I do qualify for a reduced fare pass. The regular reduced fare pass is $.75 for a ride and $.15 for the first transfer thereafter. Sadly, it isn't valid on weekends or weekdays after 8 PM, which means twice a week after class I'd have to pay the full $1.50 to get home. Just for my regular routine I'd end up spending only $8.50 a week. For four weeks that adds up to $34.00. Considering that in a 30 day period there's usually at least one extra trip--putting me up to at least $35, it's probably worth it to get the $35 reduced fare 30 day pass. That is my decision. Now I just have to remember to call RTA.
