So I found this perfect article for my soc project. The only problem was that it was a conference paper for the American Sociology Association's 1997 conference, and didn't seem to have been published in any journal. The listing I found had the author's email, so I decided email her and ask for a copy -- a solution which could possibly result in my not getting a copy for a while. I did a google on her name just to make sure she hadn't left her university, and I found a listing for her latest book on Amazon.com. It's a listing that allows you to "look inside!" Sure enough, there in the table of contents is the article I want. Not only that, but Hampshire, Smith, Mount Holyoke and Amherst all have the book. I requested a copy, which I'll be getting in a couple of days.
