According to this quiz I'm "center-right" in terms of the Iraq war. I have to admit I'm very confused on this whole thing. I'm not for war, and I'm not fond of the use of military strength unless I'm convinced that it's the last resort. However, I have to admit that in Afghanistan our involvment seems to have done some good. I don't agree with almost anything Bush or his cohorts have to say, I think they're a bunch of crooks and I don't believe their intentions are anything resembling pure, but is it at all possible that something good could come of this? I know most of the arguments against, but is it possible that we could do some good? It seems that the Iraqi people have little to no real love for Hussein, that they'd be better off and happier, for the most part, with a different leader. I worry, though, that a "regime change" means someone else that we support and give weapons to and then go to war with in twenty or thirty years. It's not so much that I question whether Husein is a bad person or dangerous, I just wonder if we're getting in deeper by going to war. I guess the question isn't war or no war, it's whether things really would be worse if we waited until he does something. Is that a realistic expectation? Is it possible that underneath the posturing and rhetoric, Bush has a point? Not that he's a good guy either, but is it possible that I've been so distracted by the bad things he's done that haven't thought terribly critically about the war?

You are my new favorite person. I pretty much agree with everything you said, and i absolutely adore seeing people actually thinking about all sides of this issue and trying to be objective and realistic.
