In other news, I got my hair cut today, and am currently in the process of bleaching. Ow! Ahhh mortification of the flesh. Next will be bright red dye. I know, my life is thrilling. It's okay, not everyone can be as cool as I am.
It's self-punishment. Suffering intended to make up for sins and/or to bring you closer to God. It doesn't mean embarassment.
