We just watched "13 Going on 30" with Jennifer Garner. It was really cute and happy, and had the effect on me that all cute, happy movies do -- I'm all bouncy and half-giddy, which is helped by the fact that I'm about 22 hours away from getting back to MA. So now you know my dirty secret -- I really like cute, sappy chick flicks. It's true. I'm a big kid. I love catching snow on my tongue and impromptu games of tag and stupid movies. I can't help it.
In other news, I went to see the grandparents yesterday. My aunt and uncle came over and showed us their pictures from their vacation in Utah and Colorado. They were amazing! The lesson I'm taking away from this summer is that I need to travel more. I love to see new places and do new things and sometimes I forget it because I'm also a total slave to my routine. I get all locked up in the things I've been doing and my plans (even if I know they won't work out) that I can never set anything aside to do something else. I have a really hard time leaving Northampton during the semester and I can't even go out to a movie if I haven't done all my work -- even if I know I'll probably just fritter away the afternoon procrastinating anyway. This has been a big huge problem for me in the past, I know it was a big impediment in my relationship with Holly, and I really don't want to let it continue to deprive me of opportunities to have fun and create more memories than just those of me sitting in my room playing popcap games.
