Sarah: i'm writing about the devil yea man!
Connie: well, you know, the devil is empty of inherent existence. so says the buddha
Sarah: sweet! my paper is done! Buddha says this class is meaningless. the end.
Connie: not meaningless. it has meaning, just no inherent existence
Connie: THERE IS A FINE LINE BETWEEN EMPTINESS AND NIHILISM!
What good is philosophy if it doesn't get me out of my paper?

actually, maybe that's not something that will make you happy. i mean, if your finished paper is no more real than the paper that's in your head, then you aren't really accomplishing anything by writing it, are you?
it's like the buddha said: it's all about the twelvefold interdependent origination, man.
(okay, so those weren't his exact words, but that's what he meant.)
annnnnd this is only amusing to me.
