I was wondering if anyone could recommend a moving company that they'd had a good experience with. If it matters, we;re moving within Edgewater at the end of February. We don't need a huge truck, but we do need conscientious movers who won't damage our things in the 10 blocks and 5 cumulative flights of stairs.

We'd prefer not to use movers, but only one of us (Roommate) can get the last day of February off of work, and there's a possibility we'll have to move twice if we don't do it this way (once to a storage space, then to the apartment).

Dire warnings to stay away from a certain mover also appreciated

We used Golans and we've recommended them and no one's really had a problem (except the foreman asked to use our bathroom and came out 20 minutes later and the smell was awful. Then he stepped in dog shit and tracked it everywhere).

It was pretty expensive after tips, though. But worth it because the last time we moved, we hired friends of friends and they dropped my brand new dresser. I still get upset when I see the big crack on the top.
